The decoder recognises selected text patterns and source-backed code mappings. It cannot inspect dimensions, materials, affixation, physical security features or the accuracy of a vehicle record.
For a compliance question
Consult the current government rule relevant to the vehicle and jurisdiction. Do not treat a successful text result as a compliance certificate. This guide awaits specific reviewed rule citations before adding detailed physical requirements.
Display rules need a physical check
The department’s display reference covers legibility, placement and vehicle-specific dimensions. A text-only decoder measures none of these. A current consolidated rule review is still needed before we publish a full dimensions or compliance table.
