Separate the tasks
Moving a vehicle, changing its owner and changing the registration mark need not be the same transaction. Gujarat’s inbound-vehicle reference lists Form 27 for registration-mark reassignment and refers separately to NOC, ownership and address documents.
Ask both authorities
Before applying, establish the process with the original authority and the destination authority. Check whether an NOC, inspection, tax payment or reassignment applies in your case. This is a preparation guide, not an all-state eligibility determination.
Preserve the paper trail
Keep your existing registration details, acknowledgements and receipts together. A decoder cannot determine the duration of a vehicle’s stay or decide whether a particular legal obligation has arisen. Obtain that answer through the official workflow.
